RAWDesign: Diversity in Design Summer Camp

RAW Design’s free Student Summer Camp returns August 17-21 – a week of hands-on creativity, design challenges, field trips, and real talk about how we shape the world around us through design.

This camp is built for students in grades 6–12 who are curious about architecture, design, and the creative industries. Whether you’re just discovering design or already dreaming of becoming an architect, we’ll help you build skills, confidence, and connections to carry with you through high school and beyond.

The camp runs as a week-long experience, blending creative exploration with real-world exposure. Each day combines making, learning, and collaboration—encouraging students to think critically, work as a team, and express their ideas with confidence.

Participants engage in:

  • Model making and sketching to explore foundational design tools
  • Design challenges that build problem-solving and storytelling skills
  • Lectures and discussions with practicing architects and artists
  • Site visits and tours to architectural landmarks, construction sites, and design studios

Together, these experiences demystify the profession and reveal the wide range of pathways within design.
